What is the Compostela Group of Universities?

The Compostela Group of Universities (CGU) is the dean of the international networks of universities with a global scope based in Spain. Our international organisation for higher education took its first steps in 1994 and since then pilgrims from more than 60 international universities have joined the network.

The CGU develops annually a number of permanent activities aimed at students, researchers and staff of the member universities. In addition, it recognizes the work of outstanding personalities and institutions through the awarding of the International Prize Grupo Compostela - Xunta de Galicia.

Over the last few years, it has also organised educational activities aimed at training young people in subjects such as the Way of St James, cultural heritage, sustainability and human rights.
